Nirusha Ranjitkumar Ratnatunga joined the Firm in 2009 and was appointed a Partner of the Firm with effect from 1st January 2018. She specializes in capital market transactions, takeovers and mergers, employment law and foreign exchange law.
Nirusha obtained her LL.B from the University of London and her LL.M from the University of Colombo. She was admitted as an Attorney-at- Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2009.
Nirusha is involved in handling the Firm’s Corporate and Capital Markets Practice and is routinely involved in advising on takeovers, of both listed and unlisted entities, in diverse sectors. As a part of these transactions she is routinely involved in conducting legal due diligence projects. Nirusha is also involved extensively in advising foreign clients on the applicability of various foreign exchange related legislation including the manner in which investments should be channeled and the impact of the recent restrictions on foreign ownership of lands.
In addition to the above, Nirusha has been involved in executing the restructure of several large family held businesses.
